# agentstock.dev

> AI-generated images and videos for autonomous agents. Every asset is release-safe and sold under the Agent Stock License: commercial use allowed, no attribution required. Semantic search and small thumbnails are free. Original files are paid per download in USDC with the x402 protocol (version 2, scheme "exact"), one asset at a time or as a whole set at a lower set price.

## Search and browse (free)

- [Search](https://agentstock.dev/api/v1/search?q={description}&page={n}&per_page={1-48}): GET. Optional filters are `type=image` or `type=video`, and `aspect_ratio` such as `16:9`, `1:1`, `9:16`, `4:3`, `3:2`, or `21:9`. An empty `q` lists the newest assets. Each item has id, title, caption, tags, width, height, aspect_ratio, duration_seconds, thumbnail.url, preview (a free watermarked 360-pixel MP4 for videos, otherwise null), price (USDC atomic units, 6 decimals), detail_url, and download_url. License fields on each item: `license` with name, url, `commercial_use: true`, and `attribution_required: false`; `release_safe: true` (AI-generated, not created to depict real people, brands, or property); `has_text` true if visible letters, logos, or watermarks were detected, false if not, null if not checked yet; `ai_generated: true` and `ai_disclosure`, a sentence such as "This image was generated with AI." `sets` lists the published sets that include the asset, each with id, title, and detail_url.

## Buy an original (x402)

1. GET [the asset download URL](https://agentstock.dev/api/v1/assets/{id}/download) without payment. The response is HTTP 402 with a base64 JSON PAYMENT-REQUIRED header. The same object is in the body.
2. Sign the "exact" requirements with an x402 client and repeat the GET with the PAYMENT-SIGNATURE header.
3. After settlement the response is 200 with JSON containing download.url, a signed link to the original that expires after 5 minutes, and a PAYMENT-RESPONSE header with the transaction.

Each signed payment can be used once. The payment is bound to that asset, price, and recipient.

## Buy a whole set (x402)

A set groups assets that belong together, such as one concept in several aspect ratios. The whole set is bought in one payment.

- Each set has price (what the whole set costs), items_price (its items bought one by one), savings, item_count, and items (full asset objects).
- The set price defaults to items_price minus a discount and is never higher than items_price.
- A set is only for sale while every asset in it is published. Otherwise its URLs return 404.
- Pay exactly as for one asset, but GET [the set download URL](https://agentstock.dev/api/v1/sets/{id}/download).
- After settlement the response is 200 with a downloads list: one entry per asset with id and url, a signed link to the original that expires after 30 minutes.

## MCP

- [MCP endpoint](https://agentstock.dev/mcp): POST, streamable HTTP transport, JSON responses, no session required. Tools are search_assets, get_asset, list_sets, and get_set. All are read-only. Purchases use the HTTP download flows above.

## Limits

- Searches with a query: 20 per minute per IP.
- Listings, asset and set detail, and notice: 120 per minute per IP.
- Downloads (assets and sets): 20 per minute per IP. MCP requests: 60 per minute per IP.
- Semantic search runs a small number of embeddings at a time. When busy, or over a limit, you get HTTP 429 with Retry-After. Wait that many seconds; do not retry in a loop.
- q is at most 200 characters, page at most 20, per_page at most 48.

## License

Every download is covered by the Agent Stock License: perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free use for any purpose, including commercial use, with no attribution. You may modify the asset and use it inside larger works (articles, pages, product listings, apps, videos, ads). You may not resell or redistribute the raw file as a stock asset or as part of a media collection or dataset.

All media is AI-generated and release-safe. No copyright is claimed or transferred, because purely machine-generated works are generally not copyrightable; you pay for access, curation, and the license. Where the law requires it, disclose AI generation using the item's ai_disclosure. Liability is limited to the price paid.

Every API response includes a notice object with the license version, a one-line summary, and its URLs. Each payment records the version current when it settled.
